The way i draw i start off with a "skeleton" (some call it stick man) to help me know where and how i'm gonna draw.  Now i know most artists do this but i just wanted to post this.  Circles for the head, shoulders, knees, elbows, hands, and feet.  The rest are lines in whatever pose i choose.  Then if i'm giving this character a sword (or any stick like weapon) i draw a lone for that too though i manuipulate everything so it can look AWESOME!  Tank you for reading this if u did.

This is really helpful. I just have a hard time copying the form of the skeleton. I just need to practice with it.

Nice Technique... Although it's not that new but still it's effective... I also use this to draw some of my works that I posted in my website for artist gallery.
