They are activity points. The more you comment on people's drawings or tuturials or write on your friend's profile, even making your own will gain you some activity points.

Like its already been said, They show your activity. You can get more starts by posting on the forums, blogs, rating tutorials and drawings, send a message to a friend ect.

It will take you a long time to get them up, but they really don't matter, It just shows how much time you spend here.
