Everyone one was silent. Icepaw stared at the ground.

"We are very sorry, Icepaw." Ivypaw whimpered.

"It was just to deep. At least your eye is still okay." Mouseclaw said quietly. But Icepaw nothing was okay. She had a big, red scar across her eye.

"You don't have to apoligize, guys. After all, I am the one who got into this trouble." The tears wlled in her eyes now. "I'll be okay." Once again, she wasn't okay. Her mother's words stuck in her head: You will be the savior of Iceclan... Why couldn't she just be a normal cat, in a normal clan?

"Ivypaw," Mouseclaw's words brought her out of her thoughts. "Keep Icepaw company, while I'm over at the elder's den. Remeber..."

"Yes, I know, there's a full stock of dandelion leaves if she gets a fever. And I'll make sure to keep her company." She replied swiftly.

As soon as Mouseclaw left, Ivypaw sat down beside Icepaw, and started sorting herbs.

"Volepaw seemed really worried about you when you were attacked. He even ran at the beavers, but luckily brokentooth stopped him just in time." Ivypaw said.

Icepaw really didn't think anything of Ivypaw's words. "Yeah, Volepaw is pretty brave. He would save anyone."

"I don't know, he seemed really worried, even for him. I think he likes you." Ivypaw said with a grin.

"You kidding yourself, Volepaw would never like me. He's the strongest, bravest, voted-most-likely-to-be-leader, apprentice all around the lake. He'd much rather have Featherpaw, or...or...anyone prettier than me." Icepaw mumbled.

"Icepaw, look at me. You have to be the prettiest she-cat in the clan." Ivypaw's gaze made Icepaw feel peaceful.

"Yeah...but no tom-cat would pick a she-cat with a scar like this."

"That just makes you look braver, Icepaw. Don't worryjust because he likes you, doesn't mean you have to like him."

"B-but what happens if I do like him?"

"Well, tell him how you feel. Now it's getting late. You should rest. Good night."

"Good night, Ivypaw." Icepaw closed her eyes, falling into her dreams about Volepaw."

Flickering shadows and lights flew threw Icepaw's vision. Where----ugh-----am I?  Was she still in Starclan with her mother, or was she in the real world? All she knew of was the flickering darkness and a sharp pain in her face.

"Icepaw? Icepaw? Can you hear me?" A voice, what it seemed like, shouted. She tried to sit her head up, but the pain was to urgent.

She managed managed to wimper out the word, "Yes--"

Icepaw scented a faint trace of herbs, so she guessed she was in the medicine cat room and the voice was Mouseclaw's, the clan's medicine cat.

"Ivypaw, I need you to mash these leaves into a pulp. Then layer it over her wound." Mouseclaw said. You could tell that she was trying to restrain her emotions, but icepaw knew Mouseclaw to well. She was best friends with Icepaw's mother. Icestar and Mouseclaw would stay up all night when they were apprentices, preparing pranks that the elders would soon find out about in the morning.

Soon her flickering vision started to focus and she saw, still bleary, the medicine cat room and 4 cats sitting around her. She couldn't tell who they were but by their smells, she could tell who they were: Mouseclaw, Ivypaw, Volepaw, and Brokentooth.

"Look she's awake!" Gasped Volepaw.

"And now its time for you to leave. The only cats I want to be in here are Ivypaw and myself. We don't want to put her into shock." Mouseclaw whispered as she ushered Volepaw and Brokentooth out of the den. When she had finally gotten them out and there was silence she said, "How are you feeling---Or is it too soon to ask?"

"Fine. Just fine." She grunted. But Icepaw knew inside that she wasn't. Her dream had disturbed the peace she had left inside her soul.

"We---we cleaned the wound as best as we could, but there is still a mark." She said. "It's probaly going to be there for life."

Icepaw shivered. She was running threw a lush green forest with lots of prey, but something still made a chill run down her back.

"Icepaw. Over here," A rich, cool voice said behind her. "I wish to tell you something my daughter." Icepaw whipped around. There her mother stood, her pure white fur stood out like a blackbird against snow.

"Mother!" Icepaw dashed over to the white she-cat. She pressed her muzzle against her flank. She saw her mother in dreams like this before, always giving her advice. "What have you come to tell me?"

"Patience little one. Let me explain from the start. When your father killed me Iceclan was open to all the spirits of the underworld. Since I had just arrived at Starclan, I made a deal with them." Her mother paused, looking slightly hesitant to tell her the rest.

"Well what happened then?" Icepaw pressed.

"Erm...they told me if I chose my only kit to be the savior of our clan, our clan will be sved from the forces of the Dark Forest."

"So your saying...I'm have to save my clan?" She was hoping this was a joke.

"Yes, Icepaw. This is for real." Her mother showed no sign of emotions, but deep inside Icewing knew her mother loved her enough not to put her in any danger.

"Where am I know then?" Icepaw couldn't help the tears that started rolling down her face. Her mother cuddled closer to comfort her and said nothing. Just then a cloudy image appeared in a nearby puddle. At first she couldn't tell what the picture was until it started to focus. There she was, lying in the medicine cat den, half of her face covered in blood.

"Go to sleep little one. I'll sleep with you until you leave." Whispered Icepaw's mother. Almost as soon as she lay down, a comforting darkness went over her.

I'm starting a new story for Warriors so check my blogs once and awhile for the next part.

  Icekit scented the air. All the scents of the camp washed over her nose. Cats, herbs, plants, water, stone, fresh-kill...! Finally she scented Lightningstar.

"All cats able to catch there own prey come join us for a Clan Meeting!" The golden tom shouted from the ledge of the Ice-tower. "As you all know that a certain kit has reached six moons old. Icekit from this point on you shall be known as Icepaw. I trust in you to be strong and brave just like you mother, Icestar."

Icepaw burst with excitement. "Thank you, Lightningstar, thank you!" She leaned forward and rested her muzzle on his shoulder.

"Brokentooth, you are pure courage and understanding so I have agreed to make you her mentor. she dashed over to her new mento and licked his ear.

"So what are we going to first?" She tried not to squeal in excitement. "Battle training, hunting, border patrol..."

"No, today were collecting moss and weeds for the elders bedding." He said in a matter-of-factly tone.

"That's it?"

"Then after that we are going to collect stones and shells to reenforce the warriors' den." And he set of toward the cave opening. Icepaw ran after him, but had a hard time keeping up with her puny legs.

"Here we are." He said once they reached small caves on the sides of the camp. "You got a lot of stuff to gather so get moving!"

Later that day, when she was done with all her work, she was exhausted. The clans elders, Lionfur and Chaffinchfeather, had thanked her for the moss. Also her and Brokentooth had worked on the warriors' den all day. Icepaw plopped down in her nest. Her littermates' nest circled her own, Ivypaw, Featherpaw, Darkpaw and Volepaw. Icepaw couldn't wait for tommorrow. Brokentooth had told her that they would be hunting the next day. As she thought about all the juicy prey she could catch the next day, she drifted into sleep.

"Icepaw wakeup Brokentooth Whitecloud have agreed to go hunting together!" A excited voice said. She looked up to see Volepaw staring at her with gleaming eyes. She heaved herself up and staggered out of the den. They met their mentors in the clearing and set out of camp. Since their camp was an air pocket under the lake they had to swim up to the surface. Icepaw had never swam before so the thought of jumping into the freezing cold water scared her.

"What are you waiting for Icepaw? Jump in!" Volepaw teased. She tensed her muscles and plunged into the water. The water was like icy flames on her skin. She pushed herself to the surface and gave a great big gasp for air.

"Great job for a beginer," Brokentooth exclaimed. "Usually we have so drag the newbies to the surface."

"Thanks." She said hoarsly. Once they reached land, Brokentooth taught her the basic stalking technique. They set into the woodland in pairs.

By the end of hunt she had caught two scrawny, old shrews ,but she was still proud for making a catch on the first day. When they reached the bank Icepaw caught a glance at some large, brown creatures in the distance.

"What are those?" She asked.

"Beavers. They might look harmless but we've had some trouble with them in the past." Whitecloud responded. She stared at the sharp, yellow teeth and pointy claws. Then she spotted a shiny blue gleam right ina patch of wood chippings by the beavers. Bluefire and Roaringwater's kits would love to play with that! She thought. She crept toward the shiny thing slowly.

"What in the name of StarClan are you doing Icepaw?" She didn't listen though. When she had almost reached the shiny thing, she cracked a twig. Almost at once the beavers jerked their huge heads toward her. A ran down her spine as the beavers closed in on her.

"Help!" She cried, but it was too late. One sharp claw slid down her eye lid. "Yoooooooowwwwww!" She was blinded by the crimson blood welling out of her flesh. She fell to the ground and the beavers waddled away. She sensed the pounding feet of her clanmates racing toward her.

"Someone, fetch Mouseclaw!" Brokentooth yowled to the sky.
