How to Draw a Bridge

This wooden bridge is a typical country bridge. Picture yourself as you wander looking down at the meander of the stream. The peaceful thoughts watching the meandering stream would make you want to record it. Here is a tutorial that does just that. The fallen leaves on the bridge reinforce the presence of autumn. Follow this drawing tutorial carefully and learn How to Draw a Bridge.

Step 1
The guidelines for this drawing are quite important because this bridge is drawn in perspective. As you can see, the edge of the bridge that is closer to us is wider than the one farther away… that’s what makes it look like it is close to us. Perspective is what helps you get a 3d feel on plain ole’ 2d paper, so pay special attention to the guidelines here.

Step 2
The background has been coloured with the airbrush tool and given a soft blurry effect.

Step 3
The bridge is brought into sharp focus in this drawing with sharp pencil outlines and details. This really makes it stand out from the background greenery.

If you liked this step by step tutorial on How to Draw a Bridge, you should try painting the river how to paint a river. The roaring water fall in the tutorial How to Draw a Waterfall attract you too. Bye for now.
