Can you stand on one leg for long? Flamingoes can. The reason why remains a mystery. One thing is certain though: the pinker or redder the flamingo, the healthier it is. I wonder if the term “pink of health” is inspired by this fact. Though they are born with h.appy- haha. plumage, they turn pinkish or reddish as they reach adulthood. They not only become healthier, they also look more attractive to potential mates. This coloration is because of the aqueous bacteria and beta carotene obtained from their food supply which is basically composed of brine shrimp and blue-green algae. Yes, with that awkward beak of theirs, they thrive on these foodstuffs. Flamingoes also stay in shores where they can wade in water and continuously source their food. Another amazing fact about flamingoes is that they do produce milk and their young feed on this milk for about two months until the time they have developed beaks and can source food on their own. This How to Draw a Flamingo guide will help you sketch one of the pretty and intriguing creatures on earth. Just follow the How to Draw a Flamingo steps as you watch the demo video.
