How to draw Gaara-

As the host of a tailed beast, Gaara is able to manipulate sand. He and Naruto have a similar background but almost opposite personalities.

This is a mid shot of Gaara, and he's looking you square in the face.

Using the pencil tool with black at 30% transparency sketch the guidelines. Begin with an oval for the head and a curve for the shoulders. Add the guidelines for the eyes, nose and mouth.

You can add in the details using an opaque black and a thin pencil. Erase the guidelines with white.

Use the paint bucket tool to fill the mid tones. Next use the airbrush tool and a darker tones with less transparency for shadows and more details. Highlights are added with a tint that's lighter than the mid tone. Add more details to the shading with thick pencil lines in the same way as you used the airbrush. This time make the colours opaque, and darker than the shadows or lighter than the highlights you just airbrushed in.

Finish the drawing with pencil lines that make your shading more defined, unlike the soflter look that airbrushing gives.
