How to draw a cartoon alien
In this tutorial you will learn to draw cartoon characters step by step. Practicing new kinds of cartoons will enable you create your own.

Step 1:
Using a grey pencil do the guide lines. I have sketched a slightly flattened circle for the air bubble and ovals fort the head and eyes. The body is egg shaped. All aliens are usually shown with an antenna of some sort. It is for direct communications I guess. So ensure you also have one supplied for your alien. Now you are ready to do the details.

Step 2
Using a thick black pencil fill in the details for your Alien. The eyes will give expressiveness to your alien, making it look friendly or fearsome. Here the alien looks ready to do something with its remote control. You can have your alien do something else, hold a bunch of flowers or better still a fancy stun ray gun. You can erase the guidelines with white pencil.

Step 3
An airbrush has been used to colour the face and the helmet. Colour the rest of the picture as you deem fit. Remember this is an alien setting, so no one can question you. Adjust the texture to your liking using the pencil tool.

Your cartoon is ready.
