How to draw Elmo

Here’s another from the Sesame Street cast. The outgoing, curious little monster with the positive attitude and infectious giggle, Elmo is a perennial optimist. Watch this step by step tutorial on how to draw Elmo. You can also check out my cookie monster tutorial.

Step 1
Begin with the guidelines in grey pencil. Draw circles for the eyes and an oval for the nose. Don’t forget Elmo’s big wide grin. Remember to keep the shapes simple, you can add the details later.

Step 2
With a black pencil fill in the details and make his face nice and furry. Erase the guidelines with white pencil.

Step 3
I’ve cololured Elmo using the airbrush and pencil tools. A little black shadow work with the airbrush behind Elmo makes him look like he’s coming of the screen. That’s it for Elmo. Enjoy!
