This family of pumpkins have been carved for an exciting Halloween.
Step 1-
I started the sketch with the oval outline of the largest pumpkin. He has a frightening expression. The eyebrows curve down in the centre. The mouth is zig-zag, and the nose is a triangle.
The smallest pumpkin has a scared expression - his eyes are wide open and so is his mouth.
The other large pumpkin is more flat and oval and hides slightly behind the first. She has a happy expression and the eyes are simple upside down Vs.
Step 2-
I filled in the background, with a broad airbrush in tones of rust. I created transparent black shadows below and between the pumpkins, to merge with the background shades.
Step 3-
I then filled in the pumpkins with a paler yellow orange airbrush. I used pencil lines to color in the mouth, eyes and nose. I touched it all up with transparent orange pencil lines that run downwards over the pumkins.
Step 3-
To finish it, I use an olive green pencil coloring for the stems. Over this, I pencilled in fine lines in a yellow green shade for the highlights and the darks in a darker green.
