How to draw a Killer Whale

Any Free Willie fans out there? Well even if you aren’t try out this tutorial for a quick and easy lesson on how to draw a killer whale. In just a few simple steps you can have your own picture of a killer whale whether you are a kid, teen or adult.

Step 1
Start with guidelines in grey pencil. The tail fins are like curved triangles, but the other fins are more rounded.

Step 2
Darken the outline with black pencil. Fill in the details of the killer whale aka orca’s markings as you colour.

Step 3
I’ve coloured in my killer whale with black pencil. I’ve also added highlights with a transparent grey with the airbrush. I’ve added a few darker shades to the highlights with the pencil. The sea is airbrushed a light transparent blue.
