This drawing has a lot of patterning. That makes it more intricate. This is why I kept my grey guidelines to a minimum. That way, erasing them later through the patterns won't become so tough. I drew the basic oval for the face and the straight lines for the crown, the fall of the hair comes in a single curve and then the shoulders and hands.
Step 2 -
I blocked in flat colors with the paint bucket tool and started with the lights hsades first. The Yellow ochre, then the red and I fininshed it with the blue and the black.
Step 3-
Only the heart on the left has no out line. I used thick outlines to make the drawing stand out in bold strokes. The blue of the beard curls outwards from the centre. There are no skin tones for the face - just blue outlines.
Step 4-
To finish it all, I put in thin white strokes in places as highlights.
