Here we have the Queen of hearts... without the tarts she cooked though :)
Step 1
To begin I've given her a nice black frame.
Like the King, Her Magesty the Queen also has intricate patterns. When you break down this image for guidelines though, you'll see that the basic shapes are very simple. The face is an oval and I've sketched the guidelines for the hair and shoulders with simple curved lines.
Step 2
I've filled in the first set of details with a thick black pencil. Then I erased the guidelines with white pencil.
Step 3
Next, I've filled in flat colours in black and yellow ochre and added the pattern in a thin pencil in black, yellow ochre and white. The red is done more like a flat colour than delicate pattern, and serves it's purpose of enlivening this drawing.
Step 4
Now we have a few more details, and then I've cleaned up the drawing bit by redoing some of the outlines
Ta da! You have now learnt how to draw the Queen of Hearts.
I dont know if you noticed but your tutorials are really hard to draw i tried drawing one and it didnt come out right
There's a mix of easy and difficult to challenge those who are more confident. Take a look at the tutorial on 'peacock' or 'bird', these are easy and there are many like these. lately I've been doing only children's requests so I haven't got a choice.
