How to draw Inuyasha’s sword Tetsusaiga

Forged from the ci.g- done yet? of the Great Dog Demon Tetsusaiga is an enormously powerful sword that only Inyasha can wield. In its dormant state it looks like an old rusty sword, but when it’s powered up WooHoo! You get one big demon sword!

Step 1
I have started with the guidelines in grey pencil.

Step 2
I’ve darkened the outline with black pencil and filled in the details of the fur on the hilt.

Step 3
I’ve used the paint bucket tool to add some transparent grey stripes to the blade to give it a nice shiny look. For added effect I’ve added details with a darker grey pencil and airbrushed some shadows as well. A few white highlights to finish off the blade then I coloured the fur in shades of grey for the shadows and the handle in brown. There you have it Tetsusaiga!
