How to Draw Celia in Harvest Moon

How to Draw Seroity the Farmer Girl-

Step 1-


This is a close up portrait of Celia in Harvest Moon in the manga style with extra large eyes. I drew the circle for the face in grey pencil strokes. Then I sketched in the curves to show the direction of the bangs and her hair. For the shoulders I drew a slanting line and one for the arm. An oval for the cake and horizontal lines to align the eyes and mouth.


Step 2-


I'm now ready to give the sketch some shape with black pencil outlines. I flesh in the face and hair. The large eyes I draw carefully being careful to put in expression, Her yellow scarf tucked over her hair I draw in and last but not least, the dress with the apron and the cake that she carries.


Step 3-


Now that the drawing is clear, I erase all extra guidelines and clean up the painting with white paint.


Step 4 -


To color it, I use the airbrush with slightly transparent colors.Pale pink for her face and a darker rosy pink for the cheeks. Browns for the hair and yellows for the scarf on the head. Greens for the shirt and a pale lemon green for the apron. I touch all this up with transparent pencil lines for a clearer effect. I use green pencil strokes for the checks on her apron, dark brown lines for the darks in her hair and brown criss cross strokes for the side of the cake. There are lighter lines to show highlights and darker pencil lines to show the darks.

The eyes have darks with a transparent brown pencil and finally the highlight with a transparent light shade. Dont forget the airbrushed highlights for the glint in her hair.

Step 5.


Last of all I use a light blue air brush to color in the sky for the background. I leave some white patches for the clouds.
