Worlds at war<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

"This is airborne angel, toal 1, you’re getting to far ahead. Ease back and cover my six." Said the flight lead. "What, you have to be kidding! I’m only just getting started!" I said. "Fall back! That’s a direct order!" "Bite me."I said. I went into aerial mode, and engaged the enemy at 3/4 speed. I got behind one. I could practically hear him calling for help. But hey, we didn’t ask for this was, they had the first strike. I locked on, and fired my gun. He went into a throwback, but I was waiting for him. I changed my line of fire, and turned him into a flaming ball of metal. The more that got through, the more innocent people would be hurt, and I wouldn’t let that happen. An explosion rocked my plane. I checked my rear view and saw that I had to enemies on my tail. It was time for some fancy flying. I could have just used a throwback maneuver, but that would have been boring. I throttled up, making them try to get close. Closer, closer... Now! I yanked the control stick up and throttled down to almost stalling position. They had no idea what hit them. I launched 4 missiles for each, no need wasting ammo. Both of them exploded into fireballs.<o:p></o:p>

Chapter 1<o:p></o:p>

Matt<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

“Hurry up matt! Said grace. She was fast; I had to give her that. “You’re too slow” she said. “Shesh, don’t pop a lung, we have all day! What, do you think everyone in town is gonna show up?” I said in return, with a slightly irritated voice. Man it was hot today! My fur wasn’t making it any better. My sister and I were krytosian, seemingly half human, half animal. Krytosian usually came in the look of Cats and foxes, my sister and I were the latter. But our most noticeable traits are our ears, tails, and our fur. “No, I’m just afraid that there gonna leave, because you’re so slow.” She said back. The truth was that I was going slow, because I was tuning my guitar. It had been acting up week. I found the problems but decided to fix it when I got to the military sign ups. That’s right; we were enlisting in the military.<o:p></o:p>

“There it is matt!” said grace in an excited tone. “Wait for me!” wait; did I really just say that? “Hahahahah! Even you think you’re going too slow!” she said. “Gggguuuuuurrrrrrr!!!!! Just wait till I catch up to you!” I said.  “He-he, like that will ever happen! She said back. I knew that she was just trying to make me mad so I’d hurry up, but I really wanted to show her! “Race you to town square” I yelled at her, and I took of up the street, and turned into a side alley, knowing the shortcut to town. “That’s one race I’ll be glad to take” she yelled at me, and took of her own way. I was determined to win, so I ran as fast as I could. I took a left, then a right, then another left, and broke into the square. And there, gloating over her victory was grace.<o:p></o:p>

“I hate you.” I said through gasps of breath. There wasn’t a drop of sweat on her blue fur. “I knew I could win, because you were carrying all the cloths and stuff.” She said in a mocking tone. “Hey,Matt! Grace! I look over and saw Raven coming up the main road. Raven was a childhood friend, he was quiet, and wasn’t very friendly towards others. He was more of an observer than an indulger. Raven was a feline krytosian. He had white hair, and red eyes. “Hey Raven, you signing up too?” I asked. “Ya, I was thinking about becoming a sniper, and then I heard that they had selven snipers.” He answered. “What about you grace?” he asked. “I was thinking about going into operations, and being battle control.” She answered. That was just like Grace, always in charge. Operators gave mission updates, and were the overall observers of a battle. “And you Matt?” he asked me. Raven was in very high spirits today. “I was going to be a selven pilot, I always wanted to fly.” I answered. Grace laughed. “Just like you Matt, always with your head in the clouds.” She taunted. Ohhh she was asking for it today.

We all got I line for the sign ups, which was about 300 ft long. I pulled out my guitar, fixed the string that was giving me trouble, and started playing. I zoned out for about half an hour before Raven woke me from my daze. I grabbed the signup sheet and filled it out. This was my last chance to turn back, so I ignored it. The thing about our “great” <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 /><st1:place w:st="on"><st1TonguelaceType w:st="on">republic</st1TonguelaceType> of <st1TonguelaceName w:st="on">Helia</st1TonguelaceName></st1:place> was that when you sign up to join the military, you leave to go right away. I gave my paper to the bus driver, soon followed by Grace and Raven. “I heard that when you join the military that u give yourself a new name. What’s yours going to be?” grace asked us both. “I’m just going to keep my old one.” said raven. “I think I’m going to keep the name that the bullies used to call me.” I answered. “Kursed?” she asked. “Ya might as well be something my enemies will fear. What about you Grace?” I said. “I think I’ll use the name Kristal.” She answered. I had to say, it suited her. Finally everyone had boarded, and the hover bus took off. I was bored, and in a good mood, so I started playing Kristal’s favorite song that she could sing. She started as soon as she heard the first two notes. When we finally pulled up to the camp, I realized that we were on the outskirts of our capital! This was getting better and better! I could get a job, and go into town for some fun! It was a coastal city too. So I could go to the beach too. “I like this place already.” I said. “Well, don’t get used to it.” A girl about my age walked up to us. “And who are you?” said Kristal. The girl looked at us like we were stupid. “I’m one of the pilots here. Names vicho.” She said in a slightly annoyed voice. Well, vicho was a Krytosian.  “Alright, give me your numbers.” She said in a bored voice. The bus driver had given us a ticket when we boarded. “I told her mine. “Number 501” I said. “Number 506” said Raven. “Number 504” said Kristal. Vicho picked up her clip board, and flipped through a couple of pages. “Alright number 504, you’re in room 17 in that building” she pointed to a building “when you go in, girls dorms are on the right. “She said. Kristal walked towards the building vicho had indicated. “And you two are in the same building, in room 21, on the left.” She told us. “Ok then, bye.” I said, and we both walked away hurriedly. “I think she’s out to get us. She’ll challenge us in a mock battle the first chance she gets.” I said. “Ahhh let her. Well show her who the top dog is.” Said Raven we entered the building and went to check out our room.

Chapter 2

Kitty

<o:p> </o:p>

“Here’s the camp on the left, George.” I said to the driver. “Yes Miss Ange, I mean kitty.”  He said back. I had to find the target; my family was counting on me. To me it sounded like a waste of time. So what, a krytosian orphan decides to join the military. Why was the company so interested in this kid? Oh well, it wasn’t my job to ask questions, just to fallow the mission. I didn’t even know what this guy looked like. No picture or record of him to describe what he looked like. Intel just told me that he was a blue fox krytosian in the company of another blue fox, this one female, and a white haired feline krytosian. They also told me that he was a musician, but that’s all we had on him. “Just let me off here George.” I told the driver, indicating a hedge. “Are you sure Miss kitty? I could take you straight to the camp.” He said in a confused tone. “Well, you don’t see too many limos pulling up to a military base, do you George?” I asked him. He blushed. I noticed him looking back at me constantly through the rear view mirror. It was ok, I was used to it. Most men stared at me; I was an attractive feline krytosian. My black and white fur, long thick tail, and long black hair all went together perfectly. And of course there was my “girlish” charms, which were more evident than most girls. It was hard not to stare at me. I was over all, a magnet. They all came in handy when I was trying to get information.

“I’ll ask my parents to give you a tip for this George.” I said. He blushed even more. I was always practicing my charms on the drivers. It was just too easy. I got out of the car, and unfurled my tail. I think I sat on it wrong. “See you George.” I said to him, and then I grabbed my bags, and started down the street towards the camp. I was try to give off the impression that I had to walk from the bus stop that I had seen half a mile up the road. It was hot today, so the sweat problem was taken care of in the first five minutes. I entered the camp, and was stopped by a girl in a pilot uniform. “Alright, I’m not going to introduce myself, so just give me your number.” She told me. What a stingy old bat. I pulled the ticket that I had got at the station, and read it aloud. “Number 508” I said. She took up her clipboard and flipped through it. “Alright, you’re in room 17 in that building.” She pointed to a building that was off to my right.  “Don’t just stand there, get moving!” she yelled at me. “Shesh! I’m right here, you don’t have to yell. Or do you only do that because you like the sound of your own voice?” what else could I say? She was annoying. She started fuming, so I walked towards the building.

I walked in and asked the girl at the desk where my room was. She pointed down the hallway to the right. I started walking down the hall, hoping that I would have a room to myself. My hopes were immediately crushed. As I approached the door, it opened, and a blue fox krytosian walked out. She saw me, and asked “oh, hey! Are you in this room?” “Room 17?” I asked.  “Yea, that’s the one.” She responded. She held out her hand. “My names Kristal. What’s yours?” she seemed nice. She could be a good friend. “Kitty.” I answered. “Where are you from?” I asked. “From some small village called junction town. She answered. Junction town? That was where the target was from.  “Hey, sorry to ask you this so early, but do you mind helping me unpack? I have a lot of stuff.” I asked. “Sure, no problem. Were lucky, we got a huge room.” She said. So it wasn’t all bad. We went inside, and found what she said was true; we did have a big room. It was about the size of a regular sized sitting room, with our own bathroom attached. We had a couple of drawers, some windows, and some furniture. We started unpacking.

“So, where are you from?” she asked me. “My house isn’t too far from here. It’s about an hour away, more or less.” I answered. The truth was I didn’t live far from here; I bathed in the lap of luxury not far from here. My family was rich, so what? “Any family members, like brothers or sisters?” she asked. “I’m adopted.” I answered. “Oh, I’m sorry. I have a bunch of family members still on Kytos, and a little brother here in the military.” She said. Could this really be the older sister of the target? Could this be anymore easier? “What’s his name?” I asked her, hoping that this was the targets sister. “Kursed.” She said back. Yes! This was the targets sister! This couldn’t get any easier. We finished unpacking, and then went to go get something to eat in the mess. By that time we were talking like we were sisters. I might actually enjoy this mission. “We’ll probably see my brother and his friend Raven in the mess. I’ll introduce you to them.” She said. She was getting more and more trusting with every word.  We went inside, and I scanned the room for a blue fox with a white cat. Like a needle in a stack of needle’s (quote from lust from FMA). I saw the target. And man was the target cute.

Chapter 3<o:p></o:p>

Kursed<o:p></o:p>

<o:p> </o:p>

“I’m telling you, I heard some pilots talking about some kind of flight simulator in the recreation area. We have to try it! It will give us a good idea how to drive a selven, and get us ready for training.” I said. Raven and I were in the mess hall, talking about the perks in the training camp. “Well, with you, you’d go even if I didn’t want to. I guess I have no choice.” He said without looking up from his plate. “Hey guys!” we turned around and saw Kristal walking towards us, with another girl in trail. For some odd reason, the other girl kept staring at me, and messing with her clothes and hair. “Hey, how’s your room Kris?” I asked her. “It’s great! It’s really big and has a bunch of furniture. How about you guys?” she asked us. She seemed really happy and excited. “We had a pretty small room, until raven got rid of the wall between us and an empty one.” I said. Kristal was looking kinda pouty. “You’re lucky; you have the alchemist on your side.” She said.  “Yea, and now we have a larger room, and more furniture! So who’s your friend?” I asked.

“Oh, I almost forgot” she turned to her friend. “Sorry about that.” She turned back to us. “This is my roommate Kitty. Kitty, this is my brother Kursed.” She said. Kitty fluttered her eye lashes, smiled and said hello. “And this is his friend Raven, the creepy stalker.” She pointed at Raven. “Hey! That’s uncalled for, and besides, Raven isn’t a creepy stalker, he’s a master creepy stalker, and I respect him for that.” I said. “Thanks buddy and I respect you for having a big mouth.” Said raven casually, wait, what? Kitty started laughing. She seemed nice. She could be a good friend. I thumped Raven on the back of the head. What a sense of humor this guy had! Raven continued to tear into his meal of red meat. “Ummm, is he supposed to eat like that?” Kitty asked, staring at Raven like he was crazy. “This is like a feast to Raven. He usually doesn’t get this much to eat.” I explained to her.

All the sudden, Raven started choking. He was coughing and gasping. “Does anyone know CPR?” Kristal asked in an annoyed tone. “CPR? I can barely spell it much less use it.” I said, and began chuckling. “Is he gonna be ok?” Kitty asked with a worried tone. Then raven dislodged a bone from his throat, and it went spinning across the table. He then picked it, looked it over. “I choked on this little thing? I’ve swallowed a lot bigger things.” He said, and then started chewing on the bone. Kitty looked like she was about to puke. Kristal and I were smiling at her. Then a voice rang out over the loud speaker. “All new recruits, report to the auditorium for orientation.” And then it shut off. Raven kept on chewing, and Kristal and kitty got up to leave. Kitty looked disappointed. Then I realized something. She had been edging closer and closer to me. Odd… “Hey kursed, bone boy, you coming or not?” Kristal said. “Shesh! Were coming mom!” I said, and grabbed raven by the collar of his hood, and threw out the bone as we walked past the trash can. “Hey, I wasn’t done with that!” Raven said in annoyed tone. “Deal with it.” I said back. Kitty stepped next to me. “So, why did you join the military?” she asked. What was with the random questions? “Well, I guess it was because I always wanted to fly I guess. I really don’t know.” I answered. “What about you?” raven asked in a bored tone. I was going to kill that runt! He was getting on my last nerve. “Me, well my parents wanted me to join. They said I really needed to do it. Other than that, I really don’t know.” She answered.

We walked into the auditorium and took our seats. Kitty was edging a little too close for comfort. The auditorium went silent. A regular fox krytosian walked onto the stage. “Hey new recruits, I’m Foxx, one of the flight instructors here. Well, you’re all here, so I guess it’s time to get started. As you obviously know, you have enlisted in the Helian military. If you didn’t know that, well, your bus home left about three hours ago, sorry.” A chuckle rippled through the crowd. “Well it time to tell you some things that you didn’t know. You’ve probably seen those ads about the army, and how hard there wiped, right? Well, this is a whole lot worse.” He said, with a evil grin across his face. He smiled even wider, if that was possible. “Just joking with you all. Actually, it’s the exact opposite of the army. We let our operators, mechanics, and pilots have some breathing room.  We treat this camp more like a boarding school. You have the choice when your training classes are, can go into the capital when you have spare time, have parties, etcetera.   We have a recreation room, with arcade games, including the latest flight simulator, and an amphitheater for concerts if you can put a band together.” I nudged Raven at this, knowing we were set in stone. All we needed was a female vocalist, and a drummer.
