May as well get to wrapping up my story. (I suggest, if this is your first time read my story, or if you need to refresh your memory, that you catch up.)
------------------------------------------------------- ------------------------------------
Moving at a stagger, we made our way towards the shady circle, Jeff dragging me along, and me trying desperately to go back the way we came. But Jeff was winning this tug-of-war. The droning chant grew louder with every shakey step we took closer, until the circular room boomed with a chorus of loud, clear, but indecipherable words. My boyfriend's voice rose along with them, his head thrust back, almost roaring the chant.
The noise sent vibration through the walls and floor, and sent shocks of adrenaline and anxiety coursing through my bones. Sobbing, I conceded to Jeff's forceful pull, and we soon found ourselves in the middle of the circle. And all at once the chanting stopped. The sudden silence caught me off guard. It was a hundred times eerier than the deafening chanting. I hugged myself with the arm that wasn't being gripped on by Jeff, and let my tears go where they would.
Behind my curtain of tears, I caught movement from Jeff. I swivelled my head towards him, and found his grinning at me. Not the mischievous grin that I loved, but one of malice and... and hunger. Under his icy stare and malevolent smile, I cringed and fell to my knees. Just what was happening here? Where had my boyfriend gone?
A rumbling-creaking noise started from behind us.
Like a door opening.
I turned.
And surprise, surprise, a door was opening. I'm positive that there was no door there before, but that might be because the 'door' was the same color and texture as the rest of the room. A secret entryway. It slid open upwards rather than sideways, and spanning from the floor to the ceiling, it was large.
Exceedingly large for the figure passing through it.
