How do i make animated pictures?

I need an animated picture for my username! All animated ones are adorable!

The animated avatars users use were made by them or are from the internet. :3 You could make one yourself, for instance, by drawing a few frames for an animation (ex.: one pic with a wolf`s eyes open, and one closed for a blinking effect.), and upload the pictures to iaza.com to make an animation. :3 although I don`t think drawingnow has an avatar gallery... they might :o *looks* If you are going to use/make one for your avatar, you should make it small, or 100 by 100 pixels. ;3

There are also a few more ways, a little more complex but Adobe Imageready is also a great program for making "gif" animations or just slideshows in general. 

For example here is something I made when I did use Photoshop and Imageready (note this is a first attempt at an animation)
