How to draw a Bell

Another free drawing tutorial is up! This one is on how to draw a bell. It’s quick and easy to do as well as loads of fun. This is one of those hand bells I saw in a shop. I was really tempted to ring the bells … but I didn’t :). So to satisfy myself I did this tutorial lesson on how to draw a bell. Enjoy!

Step 1
Use a cross as your guideline for the oval. The next straight line is to make sure that the handle and the rest of the bell are properly aligned. The mouth of the bell appears thinner on one side due to the perspective.

Step 2
Colour the bell with the airbrush tool using transparent colours. I’ve used shades of brown to make it look like brass.

Step 3
Use the pencil tool for more defined highlights. I’ve also used it to give the bell a self coloured outline.

There you have it – How to draw a bell.

Sure.

Break up your drawing into simple guidelines. Then use a black outline to draw the correct lines. This way you'll get your proportions right. Practice makes perfect - so practice first on paper - that's how I began. Then on the computer - it helps if you have a digital pen - I have a Wacom tablet. You can get one here - www.drawingnow,com/shop

enjoy!
