How to Draw Emo

This tutorial is a continuation of my emo theme. To all those fans of emo love out ther here’s a super-cute emo couple to draw. In case you were wondering, yes emo people do tend to favour black for their clothes and hair too. Soo… this tutorial is on how to draw emo. A few interesting facts about emo before we begin. Did you know that emo comes from a style of rock music known as "emotional hardcore" or "emocore". Emo is not, in fact, short for the word emotion! The word emo has now grown to describe related aspects of fashion, culture, and behavior. Cool wot?! Never thought the word emo had so much behind it. Anyways, back to drawing. Follow this simple steps to learn how to draw emo.

Step 1
Start by sketching 2 overlapping circles as guidelines for the heads. The arms and limbs are simple oval shapes. This emo couple is kinda chibi, so they have big heads and big eyes.

Step 2
Draw the outline with black pencil and fill in the details. The guidelines can be erased with white pencil once you’re done.

Step 3
The colouring has been done with the airbrush and pencil tools. Don’t forget the shadows and highlights… I’ve used the airbrush for the darks here and transparent white pencil for some extra highlighting effect.
