How to Draw Yoda :

“When 900 years you reach, look as good, you will not.”
Famous, powerful and wise, Yoda was respected as one of the most legendary Jedi masters of all time in galactic history. He lived to be 900 years old.

Let’s begin to sketch the character. This is a close up. Use black pencil with 30% opacity to sketch in the guidelines. Yoda’s head is slightly conical on the top and broad based below. Use a curve as a guideline for the nose , mouth and chin. The long ears are pointed and elf like. The neck is broad. Draw the clothes to fit loosely. The hand holds his sword with confidence as he is a renowned warrior. This is body language.

Now put in the details with pure black pencil lines. You can do the wrinkles later. His skin tones are green. Use a broad airbrush with less opacity to put in the green midtones. Now take a smaller brush with darker opaque green and put in the darks on the face. Then add the highlights with the lighter tint of green – not too transparent. Finally, with opaque pencil lines, use the thin point to lightly sketch in the wrinkles with different shades of green and wispy hair with white.

You see? You work your way up from the midtones with smaller, more opaque brush strokes. Use this technique to merge the pink and purple in the background too.
